What roms are these??
« on: June 13, 2004, 06:20:29 PM »
I have an A2500 with a 2630 accellerator.
This accellerator has a set of roms on it.

They are......... 28 pin roms

                  Copyrtght CAI 1991
                  390283-07
                  U102  65DA

                  Copyright CAT 1991
                  390282-07
                  U103   01D3

I did a Google search and it says they are Commodore
kickstart roms.
All the roms I've seen are 40 pin.
Are these A1000 roms or just what are they ??
I know they made later versions (which I want/need).
I've read this on one of the tech info sites.

Any help??

My guess is (considering the age of the machine)
they are probably 2.04 or 2.1 roms.
The question is did any Amiga use a set of 28 pin roms?
If so which one ??
I don't know where to start looking for these roms.

According to the Big Book the A2630 is :

An accelerator which plugs into the CPU Fast slot of the A2000. This accelerator also has ROMs to support booting of the other official operating system called Commodore Amiga UNIX (Amix). In order to use AmigaOS 2.0+, you need at least V6.6 of the A2630 ROMs but preferably V7.0. The A2630 has a fall-back mode where the card can be switched to using the 68000, primarily for compatibility with old and broken software. This function may only be available on some cards, as the jumper (J304) to enable it appears to have different functions, depending on the revision of the card.

Does this help ???
