Are there STILL any virus threats on Amiga?
« on: June 12, 2004, 06:33:17 AM »
Greetings,
Just making sure, better to be safe than sorry. Don't want that virus deleting my partition! So are there any threats lately on the Amiga side? To be honest, I never had used an Anti-Virus program in years. Just plain, safe computing practice. Back-up, back-up and more back-up. ;-)

Thanks 4Play.
It's been quite a while reviewing some of the CD mags I had. I'm sure I'll be able to find VirusZ. The last anti-virus i've used IIRC was VirusX. Stayed resident on me A500. A500 had no HD then Rom 2.04. Copy of my own WB disk, dual floppy drives.
Since I've connected me A1200 on to the net, any chance I'd get them from downloading .ADF's or .lha files? Probably depends on the site(IMO) and my reason is 'most would infect PeeCee anyway'. I should always be on guard still. Thanks again.
 :-)
If someone here got infected and trashed their HD or files or similar stories, I would like to hear it from you? Don't mind if I ask...just want some old camp fire stories for once in a while... eh?? :-)

It pains me to think that there are still people left in the community that would be busy writing new viri. I expect there are some though. Sad, really :-(

Karlos,

I'm sure the majority of them moved on to greener pastures, ie Windoze.
