« on: November 14, 2003, 02:51:06 PM »
Hey Guys- I'm right here TRYING my best to just BOOT from a floppy after formatting... I don't have all my fave software like diskmaster at my disposal... so WHY can't I get a floppy to actually boot?  The only options I get in FORMAt are: Trashcan, Fast File System, and International mode (wtf?!)

this is workbench 2 or something... on an a600 2.0 roms.

I just want to boot wb2 on a floppy so I can format a hard drive....    user-friendly my ass...   ;)

please help...

thanks :)

Say was dumped somewhere between 2.0 and 2.1. If you copy the translator.library, narrator.device, and say across to newer versions, it still works fine, though.

Ah, good old say. That brings back some good times. I used to have it read off text doc to friends, and also did some great prank calls in the day with it!

OH "Say" can you sing, from the start to the end,

It sounded more like a klingon got assmilated by a borg.

i had a conversation on the phone and every so often i'd get the program to say what i wanted to say

quite amusing, although very sad

@ HopperJF

Yep. I use that same technique to annoy telemarketers. :-)

@ tekyweky

Get a hold of either some WB 1.3 or 2.04 disks. Those will have all the files you need:
sys:utilities/Say
libs:translator.library
devs:narrator.device
l:speak-handler (if you want to create a SPEAK: DOSDriver)
