PNG icons on MagellanII
« on: May 08, 2004, 08:11:14 PM »
Hello,
I am using Powericons and I can see png icons very well on my os3.9. However, I haven't been able to see them on MagellanII. Besides, Imagebar option seems like it can't handle png but iff's. Do I need any patch or something?

I would like Magellan to display png icons and use them as much as possible. Am I looking for too much?

I've got PicassoIV on my 040 powered A4000.

Unfortunately PNG Icons wont work under Dopus, as I found out much to my dismay.

I used to use Dopus5.82 MagellenII but had to give it up due to the more modern look of my Workbench.  The PNG Icons in my Amidock displayed fine but the actual desktop Icons were left as little boxes with an arrow in a top corner.

There is no solution for this, it's a problem which can't be solved.  So really your choice is: PNG icons or Dopus unfortunately.

That's unfortunate!
I just keep my fingers crossed to see a patch or a new version for Opus that I have been awaiting.

I guess there won't be:(

I know, it is dissapointing.  Unfortunately Hyperion have now lost the Dopus contract as well, and I was rather hoping to see some of Magellen's excellent features integrated into the Workbench.  I don't mean integrate Dopus into the Workbench, but rather extract it's good features and integrate those into the Workbench.

Hopefully Hyperion have their own ideas about how to improve Workbench's interface, which is perhaps the most dated aspect of AmigaOS at the moment.

Hey mates,

I used to almost have Opus auto-start when going to WB, but after PowerIcons I've begun maximizing the somewhat slow OS39 instead and use Opus when i need to move files around.

So I've disabled icons in Opus, and that's fine, the more space for filelisters!

But yes, would be nice to have it working wouldn't it :)

I doubt there would come a new edition of OPUS, but perhaps some wicked patch could be done :)
Cheers
