I'm sure you guys (webmaster et al) will already know this but I thought I'd mention it anyway, you might want to try running php accelerator to help with page generation.  I've tested it myself and it has done wonders for page generation time.

Might be worth a try since it's free and takes all of 5 minutes to set up, if you're interested you can get it here:

Not wanting to harp on about it, I would seriously recommend you try php accelerator unless of course you dont have root access on the server in which case a freindly email to your hosting provider might help.

However, caching is already installed at both the server and software level.

We'll investigate though.
