AMIGA CD 32 controlers input problem
« on: March 28, 2025, 02:37:46 PM »
Hello guys, I have an Amiga CD 32 (Rev 3) with controlers input problems, Joystick & Mouse fire buttons work fine, but directions don´t (I managed to get a game going & It´s like it´s always pressing up, so it is blocking everything else) It isn´t the joystick & mouse problem because they work fine on a Amiga 500.
What i have done until now :

I have scoped U34 and realised that the directional joystick signal  inputs from the controlers are arriving to pins 2,3,4,5 & 10,11,12,14 so all seems fine here.
Pin 16 VCC has +5v also , so it seems fine
Pin 15 (MLD) output signal  that goes to Pin 21 on Lisa is showing a nice wave form on Osciloscope But PIN 13 (QH) that goes to MDAT on Pin 20 of Lisa is showing a strange noisy wave & the khz are all over the place
I am not an expert in working with the Osciloscope but that doesn´t seem right. The problem is that i already replaced U34 with a new one & the problem is still there.Atached are 2 photos from the signals coming out from Pin 13 & 15 if anyone can help me with this it would be much apreciated, I have this CD 32 setup with a CF Card with Paul Vince Amazing AGS instaled & i can´t play it, & it´s driving me nuts...
Thank you .

Do you still have a problem with CD32? If so, try to desolder the E374 resistor (this is about cutting off the U43 chip from the LISA chip) and see what the signal is at the LISA chip input and what is at the U34 chip output
