Commodore Employment Opportunities

Do you have what it takes to work at Commodore?

I'm following the daily posts on OldUsenet and Commodore posted this on comp.sys.cbm 30 years ago and I thought it was interesting to see what they were looking for going into 1988. I hope others do as well. There were quite a few posts after this asking about dress code, ties, suits, etc...

George Robbins posted it was a casual work environment which made me chuckle given he was living there. Bil Herd's stories also suggest even casual might be a stretch.

Would have loved to work at Commodore in 1987 but being 16 or 17 I did not meet many of the requirements. :-)

Happy Friday!

"The Hardware Group has an opening for a Design Engineer

Though there are many reasons, this is another one that I think really hurt them. All that capitol put in to a "not very compatible" IBM clone. I think "WHAT IF" that $$$ had gone in to Amiga development instead.

I personally had to help many small business customers deal with dos/app incompatibility problems with 286 and 386 colts that other brands didn't have. In some cases colts were dumped and replaced. It had to hurt their reputation and bottom line.

I bet that comprehensive benefits package was better than what any jobs offer now. :(
