C'mon, if anyone with the (legal, as well as technical) ability to do anything about it actually cared, AmigaOS would have been on ARM years ago, and now we'd all be happily using Raspberry Pis and Tinkerboards to run our systems.

Instead a few people choose to pay 20-100x more for boutique PowerPC systems.

A new ISA and ecosystem is all very nice, and RISC-V does appear to have some nice aspects indeed, but it's even more unlikely than ARM.

At least there is AROS and it's distributions.

You can always use UAE, you don't need to run OS natively on any hardware. You can get this hardware for super cheap and be happy. Choice of PowerPC is as good as any. ARM? "Same difference".

There is plenty of hardware and CPU power to run OS3.9 or 4.1 it is called PC (don't tell anybody it is a secret!).

I don't run my ancient A1200/030 for raw CPU speed... there is NONE of it. Why I want raw speed I use computer cluster at work .

At one time I supported the idea of an ISA shift to ARM for MorphOS, but thinking on it, X64 makes more sense If only so that we can have a good selection of boards with PCI-E expansion slots.

Except that NXP, in the tradition started by Motorola, has long term availability programs.
And besides, five to ten years down the road, do you really think I'll want dated hardware?

Five to ten years? Pfft, you're not a true Amigan unless you're craving hardware that is 20+ years old. So yes :-)
