I see someone remembers buying an A500 in a discount bin in a big box retail store but some of us remember the cost of Amiga 1000, 2000, 3000 & 4000 when new and 'low cost' is not why we (at least I) bought one

That was always one of Commodore's selling points that they cost less than the PC or Apple.  granted PC prices dropped after that but it was one of the original selling points.

How long are you in Wales for?

Heh, I am now in Lincoln, having attended the Lincolnshire Amiga Group (LAG) meeting today.  Sunday I will be at the Amiga North Thames (ANT) meeting in Enfield (north London).

Lots of traveling,

And all of them sold a lot of Atari STs which were yet cheaper.

I agree.  Good Article.  My only criticism is the cover photo shows a vintage Amiga, which to the untrained eye looks like... an old PC.  Nor exactly eye-candy inviting the reader to click and learn that the article is really about something new(ish).

Thanks for sharing. Good article indeed, Where I can get one of those Bonk's mouse pads from the photo next to the A2000 Keyboard?  It would be a good addition to my  A1200 that its sitting next to my Turbografx 16 :knuddel:

Interesting, my SX1 equipped CD32 is sitting next to a Sega Genesis and a Sony Dreamcast, as if if to prove that a good idea isn't a guarantee of success.

Speaking of which, what would everyone think of a Vampire 4 standalone being combined with a Blu ray drive and some form of solid state storage?

It could be very compact, and still provide an interesting gaming, multimedia, and computing experience. And I could play the discs I rent from Redbox on it!
