A public apology
« on: November 23, 2015, 03:49:45 PM »
@folks

a few minutes ago, while attempting to delete a duplicate post, i accidentally deleted the thread "Opening up old software?" the confirmation screen looks exactly the same between a post delete and a thread delete, and by the time i realized what was happening, it was too late. fifty posts gone in a couple of seconds.

i can only offer my profound apologies for this. it wasn't deliberate -- on the contrary. i had spent more than twenty minutes creating the thread in the first place. to those affected, i am so, so sorry. i guess the only thing i can do at this point is apologize and invite jim, kolla, olaf, itix, wawa, matthey, et al, to create a new thread to discuss opening up P96.

again, my sincerest apologies. :(

"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here."

do not worry... :)

it was only one of the amiga-typical leading to nowhere discussions. They either got the message or not :)

I thought I would give it another go, probably nothing will change!

Let's not bother doing anything, pack up and go home then. Not much point trying eh?

Sure, and that's what the other thread is hopefully about. People can share ideas on how to move forward legally and without irritating anybody (unlikely as that may be).

Ah that's what happened, I was just reading through it, went to the 2nd page and... it had disappeared! Doh!

These things happen.

No worries, at least we know it was there. It was really going to end soon anyway since it was about what should and could be done without anyone doing anything, anyway :)

well, it contained not only wasteful quarrel but also deliberate suggestions on how to face the infotunate state of affairs. clearing the thread by splitting it came even to my mind, but if this has to be done that way, then i pass. thanks for dismissing proposals that might be a solution to the repeated problem as a whole, by simply eradicating them.
