Class Act or MUI

Am I correct in assuming that Class Act and MUI do the same thing?  Seems OS3.9 BB3&4
is running Class Act.  A lot of Amiga programs need MUI to run, can they be run at the same
time?  Why isn't it included in the package seems it was in OS3.5.  Where can I get it, trying to run IBrowse which requires it.

You need MUI to run Ibrowse.  The most common version for classic systems is this one right here:

It was copyrighted software and not included in the OS.  There's an updated 4.0 version by a different group, but I've heard it's unstable as h***.  There's also updates to various classes and files within that main archive, for when you want to start digging more into it.  But start with that main archive first.

Yes, you can install ClassAct and MUI. Personally there is no software I use that requires ClassAct, so I don't even have ClassAct installed. The vast majority of my software requires MUI, and I'm glad because I much prefer the look and feel of MUI programs, and they're highly configurable. MUI all the way for me...

You should not install ClassAct on top of OS 3.5 or 3.9.

3.5 and 3.9 already contain a new version of ClassAct (now called ReAction). If you install ClassAct on top of it, you actually downgrade and make many programs fail.

You only need ClassAct if your OS is 3.1 or below.

MUI is independent of ClassAct. You can install it in any OS version. You need MUI for IBrowse, YAM and other programs which use it.

MUI and ClassAct have not much in common except that they are both used to create a GUI and that they are based on Intuition's BOOPSI system.
