1084 Monitor switch
« on: August 10, 2015, 03:10:57 PM »
I'm looking to repair a couple 1084 Commodore monitors power switches that do not lock on. The switch I need is a PREH ME5A and Commodore part #70060-232. In the picture its the white one but the black one can be modified to work instead. Anyone have any of these?

You can contact a fellow on Lemon64 who was selling some of the power switches for 1084:

Yeah, mine doesn't stay on... I stuck a couple toothpicks in the edge of the button and it stays on now!  No points for neat, cool, or even MacGuyver though.  Pretty weak, I know.

If you have one with a button on the back, there's always the "Cammy monitor fix" (I call it that because I think she was the one that originally posted this picture):

A second option would be to straight-wire the switch so it stays on all the time, then just turn it on & off with a power strip.  ;)
