Printer sharing over TCP/IP printing to an Amiga printer
« on: February 15, 2004, 03:27:05 AM »
I am looking for a way to let other computers
print to a printer atached to my Amiga 3000T. I tried netparlpr, but it only has the cliant and says that the old server from netpar won't work as it dos't meet the right standards. I also tried lpd, but it only has instruction for AMITCP and I need it to work with Miami. I also need to print from Windows macines as well as Amigas. I print most often from my A3000t so would really like to leave the printer atched to it. since Miami deluxe is so hard to find now I would not be able print from the Amiga while it is on line if I atached the printer to a Windows computer.

Thanks for any help.

I have an HP inkjet connected to my A4000T, which other computers on the network here can print to.

You need to install Samba, and the LPx scrips from Aminet.

Samba is a monster to install and get running correctly, and it's easier if you can get an example working setup to copy from.
Send me an email if you want access to my FTP server where you can browse/download my live Samba setup.
