Leopard would crawl on that thing.  Crawled on my mac min 1.5.   Tiger was just about bearable on mac min.  I wouldn't bother with mac osx on that machine will not give you a very pleasant experience.  Try MorphOS for sure or get a newer mac :)

Not long ago I also installed MOS on my MDD. I also installed the Crysalis pack and it worked well and for me it was a big benefit with a lot of installed programmes and tools. I read that you should only install the right chrysalis version for the right MOS version - otherwise there could be problems. As far as I know there is no ready crysalis pack for the latest MOS or is it?
Also I had no problem with OWB and youtube at the beginning - then after the update to a newer version of MOS with the old chrysalis pack still installed I found out that youtube did not play the videos anymore directly in the window (they seem to start but quickly they stop) but I have to download them. I think it could have to do with the need for updating the scripts I read here - I thought it was the update -> I shuould check it.
So I must say the experience with MOS was quite good. But setting the different screens is a little hassle me thinks...

It has plenty of space on TWO hard drives. I think the possibilities are as follows.

1. Finally get an OSX 10.5 or 10.6 installation DVD and install that (unlikely, as I've failed so far)
2. Install MorphOS (I managed to boot from a DVD, so this proves it's compatible)
3. Install AmigaOS 4 (NOT 4.1) using an ISO file I downloaded tonight which says it uses the loader Moana and will install onto a Mac Mini G4. I don't know if my Power Mac G4 is compatible.
4. Install Yellow Dog Linux
5. Install Free BSD for Power PC

What do you think I should do with it and why?

Go for a dual boot system with MorphOS and OS X 10.4 or 10.5. OS X crawls and restricts you nearly everywhere in your freedom to do things as you like, but offers a few nice programs that are missing on MorphOS. I dual boot my Macs, ratio is probably about 95% MorphOS 5 % OS X.

...youtube..

If you have issues with youtube the easiest fix is to spoof as ipad. That should always work - regardless of any scripts or activated/deactivated html5 mode.

My only problem is this..

The unregistered version of MorphOS includes the full functionality, but  slows down operation after a 30 minutes period until you choose to  reboot your computer.

I can not justify spending 108 bucks on a OS that I can't fully check
out give me 30 days full speed then were talking..

First of all - you can get the license for as low as 49€, or 79€ (depending on the hardware). Secondly - you can check the OS for as long as you like, just reboot every 30 minutes (really, how long does it take to reboot? 20 seconds?). And I believe "as long as you like" is enough time to fully check out an OS.

Well 108$ is about 79Euro and MorphOS is only cheaper on seriously crippled HW (Efika + Pegasos1).

But you do have a point:
- 30 mins/boot is more than enough to check wether certain apps exist and work
- 30 mins/boot is more than enough to check wether one can get the hang on how to use MorphOS
- 30 mins/boot is more than enough to check wether often visited websites work with OWB
etc etc etc

Also with a 30 day trial there would for sure be clever people finding a way to reset that counter (as it would have to be stored on disk).

If after that you still can't decide wether MorphOS is worth the equivalent of redrumloa-2-nights-out, MorphOS and yourself simple aren't made for another.
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

Actually, 30 minutes at a time was adequate to get the port of Cinnamon Writer working under MorphOS, so it ought to be adequate for evaluation.

I must say this is a great feature. As example, as soon as SAM460ex support is out, I ll be testing it for free, and pay once I can / support is mature.

Its the reason I went with MorpohOS.  Wasnt spending the money on Hardware and software to try out something I would ultimately hardly use

If you're into old games, a better option is probably an A1200 with an accelerator and WHDload.

Or via AmigaForever (which is cheaper).

Or install FS-UAE/WinUAE then search Google for the following file which is even cheaper. :)

Amiga_Kickstart_Roms-Complete-TOSEC_v0.04.7z

Every time someone buys Amiga Forever it puts money in the pockets of the shysters at Amiga Inc.
