110V powersupply on 50 Hz ok?

If one uses a American market powersupply designed for 110 V 60 Hz on a 110 V 50 Hz outlet. Would that work well?

(ie step down transformer in Europe)

If anything relies on the line frequency for clocking, it will run slow.

Had that problem when I was stationed in Scotland.  We had transformers to adjust the voltage, but if you plugged a clock into the line, it ran slow!  After 3 years there I got pretty good at calculating when to set my alarm clock so I wouldn't be late for muster!

No computers use AC electric motors for timing unless, of course, you build one; so the answer is, "No."

The A500 only uses +5, +12, -12 V DC so no problem with frequency unless the transformer core gets saturated or rectification capacitors let through mains ripple.

Actually, I went to a wind up!  The area I was in tended to lose power from time to time!

Why didn't you just buy a new alarm clock for ten bucks?
