AmIRC DCC Send Problems

I cannot DCC send from my Amiga.  I can DCC receive fine.

My setup is as follows: A1200, OS3.9, MiamiDX1.0c, AmIRC3.5.25, and I am connected to the outside through my Linksys BEFS41 Cable/DSL Router.

The distant computer sees the request coming from 192.168.1.3 (my internal IP address) instead of my 24.x.x.x external address.

I have TIADCC set in ENV:, the ports open through the router, and the TIADCC settings set in AmIRC, but it still doesn't work.

I know I am prolly missing the obvious, but I can really use the help.

Disable From ENV in TiaDCC, and try instead to use the Host string. Set the INTERNET ip there.

My router doesnt give me enough control over its firewall so instead I have to also use the routers DMZ function.

Other then that ya should be fine, mirroring the ports in the fire wall that you have set in tiadcc.

Sounds like your AmIRC is using your internal IP address instead of the external address. I've emailed you an arexx script to your Amiga.org address that I wrote to pull the external IP address from the router and load it into your ENV:hostname file. Once you install the script check the box to have the hostname from ENV: in your AmIRC network settings. Should get to you it your email forwarding is set up here.

I swear I tried everything your script did, but now it works.

I set my AmIRC TIADCC settings to get my hostname from ENV:, the port range from 1045-1055, and checked the "Use TIADCC" box.

I set the Linksys up to allow 1045-1050 through to my internal IP address 192.168.1.3... and presto.

Glad it worked for you. I put literaly weeks of research into solving that same problem when I got my BEFSR41 router. It's a great little box to get a simple network running fast. Now I run a Linux server as my gateway/router and can use simple resolve to my domain name to get the hostname value.

I stopped working on the arexx script once I changed over to the Linux server. I guess I'll go ahead and do a little cleaning up on the script and post it to aminet for others to use.
