An interesting observation on 16-bit memory...

Just upgraded my A2000 from 16MB to 24MB of fast ram. Got a sweet deal on a fully populated SupraRAM board.  So that gives me 16MB 32-bit fast on my GeForce 040, 8MB 16-bit fast on the SupraRAM, and 2MB chip. I'm running 3.9 + BB1-4, the latest version of TLSFMem, and a whole bunch of various other speedup hacks and patches.
 
Before adding the SupraRAM board I had about 76% of my chip memory free after bootup. Just figured "it is what it is", ya know? But after adding it, I now have 89% of my chip memory free. W00t!
 
I think what that's telling me is despite all my modifications to this system to put icons and everything else in fast memory, something in my system wasn't playing nice with the 32-bit memory and was still putting stuff in the chip memory. And now that it's got all that 16-bit fast memory to play around with it's no longer using chip. Either way I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth, but will enjoy my "extra" 13% free chip ram! :banana:
 
 
Now to figure out where to get 64 70ns 1Mx1 DIP ram chips to max the speed on this SupraRAM board, too, LOL.

That is great-  I wish I could add more memory to my 030, but maxed out at 6 w/Bridgeboard.  Is that a heatsink I see down there- are they on all custom chips?

I might have missed it.  What HD interface are you using?

I ask because my A2500 (A2000 with factory 030, 32-bit FAST ram and A2091) came with no 16-bit FAST ram on the 2091.

So, will some fast ram on the 2091 speed up HD access?
