M-Tech Viper 1230 RAM

I got this card http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/t1230 and only 4mb ram. What 8mb ram modules fit this card and where to find them ? I know in 8mb mode the card is not PCMCIA friendly. Thnx!

i think you answered part of your own question with the link:)

• one 72 pin SIMM socket accept 8 MB 70 ns RAM
• supports 1, 2, 4, 8 MB SIMMs

It just uses the old common 72pin simms..80ns speed or faster should do fine you. FPM or EDO should work. You need a single 8MB  simm.

lol, my bad, should have read that article better. Thanks for the info. I hope I can find a SIMM here locally, ebay is not very popular where I am from. 4mb is very minimal for WB 3.1. When I get 8mb i might install 3.9.

if you cant find one local let me know, i have a bunch of used ones. i can send you one for shipping cost.
you are not going to be happy with os3.9 on a 020/14mhz ec machine with 8MB ram.. it will probably run pretty slow and not leave you with much useable mem. but it will run

you are much better of with a 030/50 accelerator at a minimum.

Thanks for the offer man!! I will see if I can find one here. The card has 030/28 and FPU. I guess it will be able to run 3.9 at decent speed.
