I always hated how C= tied the power LED into the audio filter.  Looked stupid for the computer to be on but the light off, at least some models only dim the LED.  What jack*** came up with this idea, anyway?  Haha.  ;)

I would love to see this list of games too.
Posts on this account before August 4th, 2012 don\'t belong to me.

It was probably the same clown who decided to put a non-standard parallel port on my A1000. I think the A2000 had this same "feature" if my memory serves me correctly.  I can remember having to buy a special "Amiga-only" printer cable that cost 3 times the amount of a standard cable back in the day.

A1000 had gender-reversed parallel and serial ports for whatever reason.  All other models had standard Male and Female connectors AFAIK.

Two that I know of are:
1.Fire Power by James Daniels (led flashes when generating landscape)
2.Bump 'N' Burn demo on CUAMIGA disk 82 (led flashes when decrunching data)

Also, a kind of cpu monitor utilising the LED on aminet (not a game!):

(a bit offtopic) iirc, Titanic crunched executables would do that.
Better sorry than worry.

On the A1000, it was more than just a simple gender change.  There was also a power pin that had been moved because a standard gender changer adapter didn't work and the user also risked damaging their Amiga if they tried to use a standard parallel printer cable and a standard gender changer.  God, I miss my old A1000 though. Wish I had never sold it.

Quite a few demos also dimmed the LED.  The list of them that did this would indeed be a long one.

That's because they turned off the audio filter. On some models the light would just turn off, rather than dim, it was annoying. :madashell:

Back on topic, I can't imagine it would be too difficult to create something to do this. There's already plenty of very small utilities on Aminet that turn the filter on or off. Perhaps making one of them resident and then calling it repeatedly in rapid succession would have the desired effect? Maybe trigger it via an Arexx script, based on actions of another program such as a mod player? Just a thought, I'm no programmer but it doesn't sound "too" hard to do. ;)

Some games use the low bass filter (therefore the power LED) to show that you are under water. For sure "Bubble and Squeak" uses this a lot. I am not sure whether "Project X" also does not use it in the fourth mission.
