Doh!  My bad.  I didn't realize this was a 68K version of AROS.  Please ignore my earlier post Olaf!
Actually it's not very clear that AROS Vision is for 68K Amigas... I wonder how many others don't realise this fact? ;)

To the general comment regarding "Why not Wanderer". Where should I start?

It's like fighting with windmills with some people ;) I've been doing that since 90's, but some just insists WB instead of Magellan ;) It's awful.

I've decided (after playing around with Amikit on my real Amiga) that it's really down to Workbench replacements being rather different than Workbench that is annoying.

When you're so used to things being in certain places, then suddenly they're elsewhere... then you have to relearn everything.  But at least it isn't Windows 9x-Windows 7 vs Windows 8 bad...

I use Workbench and think "I like this a lot!"  Then use DOpus, and think "I like this a lot too, but for some different reasons!"  Then think "Crap, where is this?" and sometimes just flip back to Workbench because I know where it is there.

I'm going to have to give this a shot on my A4000D/060 with Radeon when I get home :D

Heheh :)

It should really have 68k, Classic or something in the article heading to make it clearer I think.

I totally agree with slaapliedje.

In my case I try to avoid Magellan at all costs, because it is very different from Workbench (but I do use Dopus 4.16 as my filemanager). I do like ScalOS a lot, and absolutely love the tiny arrow gadget on Wanderer, that goes one directory up.

Time for a dumb question* regarding Magellan. How do you run executable files under Magellan? Every time I try switching over from workbench, about half of the programs that just work under workbench throw up a requester asking me what program to run them with.

*I just started using Amigas around 2005 or 2006,  so I didn't get to use this stuff in its heyday. Now it's kind of hard to find relevant info online because most tutorials/faqs/guides just seem to assume that the reader already knows the basics.

I do not have the problem (most 68k software works). Do you use it as Workbench replacement?
