Apollo 1240 ROM question
« on: February 07, 2013, 05:57:33 AM »
I got my hands on two Apollo 1240 cards. One working, and one with faulty MACH205 and ROM (few legs missing). Both have working MACH131. Is there an easy way to tell the version of ROM on the working card? Also, is it possible without removing the ROM from the working card, to save the ROM image? I think I read somewhere that can be done with asm-one, but just wondering if someone can point me the right direction?

You'll need Sysinfo and a monitor program.

Fire up Sysinfo, and click the "Boards" button.
Sysinfo should report that the Apollo's ROM has been mapped into a 64KB chunk (iirc),
somewhere in the $E80000-$EF0000 memory space.

Use your monitor program to dump that memory area to a file.

I haven't had one for many years, but I do seem to recall that there was a version string somewhere near the start of the ROM.

Cheers,
