Well, http://web.archive.org/web/20130406091703/http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/mastercard

Why closed amiga.resource.cx?

@aquapuls

Its quite likely that the AutoBoot ROM is garbled and requires either re-programming or replacing.

You can find the BootROM on the install disk of the adaptor.  you can use this a bin image and program the another 27c256 (it maybe a 27c128) just an educated guess.

Sadly I cannot log-onto amiga.resource.cx to confirm that .

I can confirm autoboot+defective ROM gets you to black screen on this card. I have MC302 and MC702, and autoboot+wrong program in ROM makes it a black screen.

Their (crappy?) server seems to be down every now and then.

Well, http://web.archive.org/web/20130406091703/http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/mastercard

Excellent!

Thank-you for the link, I managed to get the install / tools disks - quite a handy feature that web-archive!

Sadly after combing the disks I cannot find the device driver persay - would it be possible for you to copy the contents of your MC702 boot ROM - I am sure I can then easily program a chip up for aquapuls to get his card off the ground.

The Masoboshi Master-Card 702 is a wonderful card, perhaps the only card with DMA IDE on the Amiga - it would be such a shame if its left in a non-usable state.

In fact if anyone can help with a MC702 Autoboot ROM image - that would be fantastic.

@Zetr0
Try this patch for MC702 card. It says it includes MASOBOSHI.device V2.202 Eprom code.

Well found and caught sir!

I have found the ROM file, its 17.5k which is quite interesting as this means one requires a 32k chip -

@Aquapuls
I have a few chips so if you would like, just send me a PM of your address and I will post you a programmed chip - I will get you a postage quote it should be quite cheap.

If you have the kit at home to program these then you will need a 27c256 @ 200ns (or lower) you will need to "pad" the end with "00"'s or "FF"'s  I would recommend the latter.

Alternatively one could use a EEPROM W27E257 (Winbond 32k)

Glad to help.

Please let us know how the chip programming worked for you.

If it works well and you have spare chips left I would also be interested in one with V2.202. I will cover the costs of course.

I have V2.182 so I couldn't apply the patch, but never made an effort to upgrade with new chip.

Atleast I can confirm the ROM file is valid, I revived one MC-702 back to life with the v2.202 ROM.

Actually its to help Aquapuls, I no longer have a Masoboshi MC702 - I have to admit, I do regret selling this card now... not because I needed it.... but because I want it LOL!

I would be my pleasure to help, just PM your details we can sort out the rest from there.

This is great news, if I could be so bold as to ask - Could you confirm the details of the chip containing the Boot ROM - it should read something like 27C256 - 20 or 200.

I do so appreciate it.

It was an NM27C256Q but didn't take a look at the speed, sorry. I glued the sticker back so can't check it anymore.

My friend that is perfectly fine, its just the data I needed to confirm the require PROM size!

My sincere thanks.

Dear @Zetr0,
Thank you.
Unfortunately I do not have a device for programming EPROM.
I'm willing to pay you for a ready-ROM (EPROM) with V2.202 (including shipping), if possible.

It works perfectly.
Thank you very much for @Zetr0.
