am a bit nervous for Monday, since I am going to a company wich I havent been into and promote Amiga and invite them to a Amiga show near here in April and more.

That's really something! I had no idea it was this far already. I did check your site some days ago but only a small intro on it was there. So I only got from it what I could read here. But like you said, the site will be containing all the info. That's good. And so far everything is looking good. At least your out there and trying. :-)

@restore
Not being an AROS-expert, but after some initila looks I can tell you this:

They do have an intregrated gfx/cybergfx-lib similar to the one used in MOS
(no need for Pen-based pains for example), and a modular concept for
lowlevel-drivers (Hidds).

They also have Zune (MUI-clone), and I think they now started useing the enhanced
MOS-Intuition which was feeded back into their CVS.

1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

How will AROS support modern graphic cards like radeon etc etc? Will there be a special graphic.library that takes advantage of them? for enhancing gui and stuff

The graphics.library and the cybergraphics.library both go through the graphics.hidd which provides support for modern graphics capabilitys including hardware accelleration for both of the original systems :-o

We already support 16bit and 32bit displays as you can see from the website and if you try the disk/CD

GUI enhancements will come from Zune :-)

-Edit- hahah, Kronos beat me to it :-D

That would be fine the boot loader we use is Grub wich can boot either Windows or AROS (and Linux too). The only problem is that at the moment AROS lke to have the drive to itself, and will eliminate any other OS on that drive... this will be improved later. But for now I suggest you use a spare drive for AROS :-)

@Kronos:

Don't get your hopes up too much. AmiDelf does not seem to answer even constructively critical questions. Which is very unfortunate, I should add---if he has indeed thought of Someting Big, then it should be very easy to quell our doubts, never mind getting funds and manpower to succesfully complete the project. Perhaps he's still brooding on the details, but from what I've seen, I will not be holding my breath.

On a side note, you will probably enjoy rereading your reply to Shiva in this thread. Scroll all the way down to the before-last post. I'm sure you'll agree with me that right now, this 'Amiga Project' has all the markings to follow your 6-point plan to the letter.

Hi AmiDelf,

i like your enthusiasm and I admire it, but what makes you think that the Oliver Day's project has failed? (i've just read it on your site)

Is there something that we don't know.

Ciao

Well. Haven't heard from him in a long time, but maybe something happends. I wish him all the best offcourse. All projects is risks. Either they work or they collapse.

Webpage is now under construction. I think it will be on-line on Sunday.

Look here:
http://www.amigaworld.org/project/AmigaWorldCT_2.jpg

Thats project name and will be here. This is the AmigaWorld, creative team project. Its aim to interract Amiga users, let us show the world and others that we are strong tougether. If we can atleast get out new ZipSticks and new Amiga keyboards. That will be great.

Offcourse, the project can exstend and do other great things. Its all about what the community wants. Creating something tougether, showing companies that were a active computer community.

Regards,
Michal, www.amigaworld.org

Hi AmiDelf,

those statement on your site who claims:

"Oliver is known for doing ColdFire CPU board for all Amigas, but has failed. Maybe a link could be created here?"

has scared me (for a couple of seconds).

Just contacted Oliver and FYI, ColdFusion project is UP and running.

Ciao

@Framiga

Yeah, as much as I have my doubt about Oli and his CF, he atleast seems to
know what he is doing .....

The ZipStick. Got one at home. The joysticks were always great. When I tried another system the first thing I noticed is the crappy joysticks.

Definitely my favorite joystick also... I got one with my first amiga"a500" and it still works today  :-D
