Amiga user groups, Where are you?
« on: April 24, 2013, 04:57:09 AM »
In another thread a fellow dot org stated that "there are only user groups in Calif and NY.
The user group was the best feature of the amiga eco-system.

If there is a group in your area, please list your group so that we can keep helping each other.

Sacramento Amiga Computer Club (SACC) supporting amiga users and Amiwest for years!!!

Believe the ones up here near me are still around - Calgary/Edmonton, in AB, Canada.  Went to a meeting of one of them many, many years ago, but can't recall which one.

I contacted the former president of the Commodore Computer Club in Fort Smith, Arkansas a couple weeks back and he said they disbanded a few years ago. I'm trying to find out if there are any active groups around the Arkansas/Oklahoma border area.

If you want the 411 on ugns Robert B as you can see has the whole layout of Cali. He actually drives HUNDREDS of miles to go to them all. This guy is a real Amigan.

When I left NYC over 5 years ago there were still 2 or 3 active groups. One in Long Island (LICA) and one that met at NYU. And the now defunct Queens amiga user group (QAUG)

Heh, I can never make it to a SACC meeting, because it is on a Monday.  :)  However, I did go to the TOGA meeting earlier this month and the FCUG meeting last Sunday.  And on July 13, I'll be going to the SCCAN meeting.

Is that this group? http://www.cucug.org/amiga/aminews/1999/990825-cucug.html

:laughing:I thought about starting one up, but being the only member sounded lame. I guess I could, though. If I get a webpage or something going I'll post it here.

I don't mind talking to myself and being the only member.  Ha ha.  I get some more issues resolved that way.  :D

I don't know of any in Utah, where I am.  There must be some of us around, some guy on here in my zip code had offered to give away his Amiga 1000, I was going to grab it from him, but hadn't set up my email notifications!!

Kind of a bummer, but my A4000D has made me poor anyhow :D
