I saw that on there a few weeks ago.  Seems odd out of all the Amiga custom chips... Gary?  But maybe that's the only one to which pieces of the production process survived.  Artist has some other really cool ones: 6502, 68000, etc.  But OMG, the prices are almost as high as for our computers!  ;)

Other chip wafers were kicking around on eBay a number of years ago, though I'm not sure if they were as nicely mounted as this one.

Of all the actual "exciting" custom chips, why would anyone want some special plaque for the most boring one? :)

Gary, short for Gate Array, has been used in the Amiga 500, 2000(B) and CDTV. Gary provides glue logic for bus control and houses supporting functions for the floppy disk drive. It integrates many functions built discretely in the previous Amiga 1000 in order to reduce costs.

To match the special plaques of all the others in his or hers collection of course....

...and what a pretty collection it would be. :D

Gary, short for Gate Array, has been used in the Amiga 500, 2000(B) and CDTV.

The first 5719 was built using a Toshiba Gate Array TC17G008AP.

The later 5719's were a custom part, but the name had stuck.

I guess it's driven by the wafers, that is the only thing of value in the auction. I'm more interested in the provenance of the wafers.
