« on: February 18, 2013, 11:01:00 PM »
Hi i have just installed a silver surfer parallel adapter into my towered amiga, and would like some help with getting it working. Ok here is what i have done i have installed the adapter as shown in the picture that it comes with (fitting it was the easy part) and booted from the floppy as described in the manual, rebooted my amiga and now i have a floppy image that is saying "Df0:Unreadable" on my workbench screen? I also have with AMI-PC Software which is 2 Floppy Disks 1 for PC and 1 for Amiga, What version of windows is compatible with it?

I have a Silver Surfer and mine is a high speed serial port.  I have used other AMIGA to PC software for transfers and they were DOS or Win 95 based. Certainly 64-bit Windows is out;  but PC floppy based software went in hand with DOS 5.0, Win 3.1 and Win 95.

No.

I tried that with AmiLink and it wanted a real 32-bit CPU and Win95. All I have in storage is a Win98 Celeron Laptop. Same with Final Writer '97.

Amiga Explorer will work with the PC's serial port and with the standard Amiga serial port. I have never tried to configure it with another serial port, but  SetPatch used in OS3.9 with the ?NSDconfig file in the DEVS: directory would let you direct output between similar ports. Amiga Explorer may have the option of using another port. But, again I have no experience there.
