I have a question.
Can an Amiga 1200 be connected to another game console like a Nintendo (or other), via specific cable/s, and be used that way? Thank you.
Yes of course.
You can connect an A1200 to a CD32 gaming console or a CDTV game console or an A500 game console or an A3000 game console or an A4000 game console or an A2000 game console using a datalink cable (nullmodem cable). This allows you play many games in 2 player simultaneous mode where each player has his own screen! It is loads of fun!
The most popular games to do this with are Stunt Car Racer (2 player simultaneous) and Lotus (2, 3 or 4 player simultaneous). But there are lots of others, I just didn't play the others so much.
You could also link up using a ParNet cable on the PAR: port which is much faster but I don't know a single game that uses it.
There are other games you can link in a more primitive way, using modems on both machines. Firepower, Perfect General and lots of other games support this option but I never cared for this type of linking.
It might also be possible to link Dungeon Master from Amiga to Atari ST using a MIDI cable, which is just a special serial cable. But I am not sure if DungeonMaster actually works.
