« on: December 20, 2002, 05:16:10 PM »
I have just recently come back to my Amiga.
I have IBrowse ver 1.22.
Does anyone know of any more recent patches
and if so, where can I  get them (download).

I am pleasently supprised Amiga is still alive, I have
been using the BOX (clone) for about 4 yrs. and am very tired of it .

You may be able to find some minor upgrades/patches
on Aminet, but Ibrowse is currently at 2.2, and I
doubt you'll be able to upgrade from your version
to that and still have a registered version.

I've just plugged in my Amiga (and currently using
it) for the first time since moving house, surprised
something bad didn't happen in transit :-)

Now to get a beta version of IBrowse 2.3, if I can...

(I wonder if it wraps inputted text into text boxes
properly, unlike 2.2... :-))

Welcome back :-)

IBrowse 1.22 was the last of the 1.x line.  Since then, there has been IBrowse 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2.  You will need to pay an upgrade fee to get your hands on 2.x, but you can try the 2.2 demo - see the link at the bottom of http://www.ibrowse-dev.net.  This is actually quite out of date now, but IBrowse 2.3 is due for release soon...

My advice to you would be to try the 2.2 demo, and wait until 2.3 is released - at that time, we will be announcing our new distributor (HiSoft no longer have the distribution rights), and then you'll be able to purchase IBrowse 2.3 at the special 1.x->2.3 upgrade rate, if you want to.

Keep an eye on the IBrowse site - although I'm sure news of it's release will find it's way here within a few hours of occurring ;-)

@mikeymike

I don't think you'll have enough time to get the IB 2.3 beta before IB 2.3 is released.

And yes, IB 2.3 do soft word wraps in the text areas. I couldn't stand not to have it implemented, so... ;-)

Thanks much--
I just downloaded IB_2.2 and it really is much
better and faster than ver 1.22. I have been using
Messy Dos Exploder on the Box and as much as I
disliked saying it, Exploder was better.
I think if the software writers can write code
that will run at a reasonable speed then these old
Amigas they will live on for long time.
