How do I change the icons on the workbench screen?
« on: March 15, 2004, 08:04:48 AM »
Hello!

I have installed Powericons, so I can now use the impressive png icons. But how do I change the Icons of the Harddrives on workbench screen? and how do I change the Ram disk icon?

The volume icon is the file disk.info in the root of the volume.

You'll need to copy the ram disk's icon into place in s:user-startup, since the ram disk is cleared on each reboot.

So, copy the icon in place, then snapshot it, copy it somewhere on your HD and then just edit the user startup and insert a suitable copy command there.

Or you could just change the RAM Disk icon stored in PREFS:Env-Archive/Sys

Hi  jonssonj

on which OS?

If you have OS3.9, you can simply open the related Information window, and drag the new PNG icons inside (over the old one and save)
