Congrats, as per my user name, I also like my CDTV

The real CDTV software works best, everything from floppies and stuff that requires keyboard sort of breaks the idea of the CDTV, a TV appliance with remote control. Still, it's nice to be able to use the thing with floppy games, too!
Hardware things I have come across:
- noisy fan, I replaced mine and it improved greatly
- contact problems and/or sticky lubricants with CD-mechanism sensors (boot screen turns red without a disc (as the tray thinks there is, and obviously fails to read it)) or the insert/eject is sluggish
I think CDTV should also work nicely as a CD-player. The remote controller is nice and most of the CD controls are on the front panel, too.
There is a lot of videos about the CDTV on Youtube, here is a two-part (quite cheesy!)
promo video for it.
I really liked the
CDTV version of SimCity, lot more stuff compared to the standard Amiga SimCity and the controls work nicely with the IR controller. Still, saving cities requires a SRAM card or floppy drive.
I don't know about accelerators, they seem rare for the CDTV. I managed to buy a CD1301 Genlock -video module for my machine, which is interesting (not to say I have any sensible use for it
