Smallest TCP Stack OS 2.x?
« on: September 08, 2012, 08:58:56 PM »
I'm asking what the smallest resource usage (mainly memory, but also CPU) TCP Stack is?

Using Miami32 atm and it uses around 1MB memory on my Amiga 1200. I use PCMCIA Network card cnet.device

Are there Stacks compatible to OS 2.x (Kickstart 2.04/2.05)?

Greetings
jc

EDIT: Mainly want to use FTP, so a small FTP client suggestion would be nice (also for A600, 2.x). I'm using ncftp on 1200 with 3.1 OS, eats some memory too. Maybe too much for unexpanded A600.
What about Parallel-Port Networking? for transfering files to A500 Kick 1.3?

I know for a fact that Termite TCP worked on an unexpanded Amiga 600 (with kickstart 2.x), but then it was lacking many important features such as SANA driver support. It is only good if you are using dialup and then I remember it had trouble with instant messengers (ICQ).

Mainly would use it for FTP to transfer files from/to Linux/Windows machine home network.
In another forum i read about using samba would take 100kB of memory and use mountable drives on Workbench. What about that?

If you can do without TCP/IP then ProNET or PARNET is very small footprint Amiga>Amiga parallel networking. You might need to make up your own cable but it is very simple.
