A1200 keyboard into A4000 keyboard case?

Can I use a A1200 keyboard and transplant into A4000 keyboard case? I have a German A4000 keyboard and I'd like to convert it to U.S. layout. Was not able to find specifics... usually people try to do it the other way around and connect big box's Amiga keyboard as external keyboards to theirs A1200s. Thanks.

I don't think you can, but you should be able to use your a1200 as the keyboard for the a4k.  Check out the keyrah, I think, at amigakit.us or some other similar site.  I'd find it for you but my internet here is SLOW!  (in afghanistan lol)

You could always swap the keys from one keyboard to the other.  I honestly don't know it they are the same shape and size, but I've done it with other keyboards so it's at least worth looking into...

If that works, all you need to do is load up the right locale for the keyboard layout.

Yep, that is my last resort plan. Since A1200 & A4000 are from the same era, there is a hope the key caps are compatible.
