Font troubles
« on: January 22, 2004, 12:22:42 PM »
Okay I am atempting to get some nice looking system fonts. I was told to use the ones that come in the MAgicWB archive. When I put them in my fonts dir on my boot drive they wont show up. Any of you have an idea as to what would cause this? The files and dir are in Fonts: but when you open prefs and try to select them its a no go.

Well, what version of Workbench are you using? Do you have any font cacheing programs/patches installed? These programs usually come with a small utility for indexing the fonts, so maybe look for that. Sometimes even running FixFonts program in Workbench will sort it out for you...

Using 3.9 with no major hack added except the mediator stuff.

Hi Acill,

but . . .are you sure you wish to use those MWB fonts?

Some of them, requires MagicWB palette scheeme as well. (the outlined ones).

Try THIS . . . very good for the web but for other pouposes too.

Ciao

PS- the site is sloooow but useful.

Try the FixFonts system tool. If you enabled the OS3.9 font cache you need this for new fonts to be activated.

Bye,
Thomas

there is alot of mess around fonts ;(

too many types! , i dont remeber exactly how and why and what but i am sure you need "FIXED" fonts only..

but i think DopusMagellan 2 support non fixed fonts (ie size on X can be diffrent from letter to letter , i am not sure if this apply for Y also)

hope this atleast triggers someone to help you out!

cheers
