Indivision AGA MK-II questions

Tried out the new Indivision AGA MK-II this evening in my A4000T, seems to be something wrong I am doing since I get no picture at all from this little beauty.

Still trying to decide what monitor to buy for my new setup with Mediator/Radeon + IV-AGA-MK2, so it was just a test really to see if I could bring up a picture on my old Eizo monitor, which is a model T961.

With the IV-AGA-MK2 sitting tight, I used a DVI -> VGA adapter to bring the signal to the monitor. When starting, the monitor says it's picking up a signal of fh 0.0 kHz, fv 65.3 Hz, and hence, no display. The T961 is capable of fh 30 - 115 kHz, fv 50 - 160 Hz.

Three things I can think of here:
1. Wrong type of DVI -> VGA adapter. I am a complete novice to the DVI standard so I may have used the wrong one. The one I picked up is labelled "FG-DVI-I-VGA".

2. The T961 is too ancient for this type of display. Really, I stopped looking at monitor specifications 15 years ago. If they don't work these days, just throw them out and buy a new one at your local 7-11.

3. IV-AGA-MK2 faulty, or not properly seated. How hard is it safe to push it without breaking anything?

With my GFs A1200 I had to use considerable force. I first thought the unit was properly seated but it wasn't (and I couldn't see a gap by visually inspecting the situation). I had to push it hard enough to bend the motherboard slightly.. when it finally locked in place it gave quite noticeable snapping sound. YMMV of course.

Remember 560SL that you can always take the motherboard out and support it from behind if bending it seems too scary. :nervous:

I have an IV-AGA-MK-II attached in my A1200 as well, yet to try this out - but I remember hearing a really good snap when that one was seated. Like swedish "knäckebröd"

Will see if I can have another go with the seating in A4000T.

I've got two of the MK2's in two different A4000Ts and yet it takes a fair amount of force and there is a noticeable snap of click; I use an analogue DVI to VGA  adapter but I'm going to try a digital just for you! OK, I get a digital picture signal; quite a pleasant surprise there so I know the signal goes down to 15 Hz (the old Amiga signal) and up to the 80 range. It gives you these values as in syncs to the screen. If I had to guess, I bet the hardware is fine but you have a signal out issue. Check your connections, the green grounding wire, and the device seating
