Commodore Repairs?
« on: February 06, 2012, 07:12:20 PM »
I know this isn't totally Amiga, but where else do I ask?

Does anyone in the U.S. or Canada do repairs for the Commodore 64?

One of mine died when I was putting on a second SID. :/

It's probably cheaper to just buy another one.

Cool.
Nice prices.
Pity they don't have any Amiga 600 or 1200 models.

I've wanted to pick up some of those NIB joysticks he sells, but I haven't bothered going to the WOC shows where he sells this stuff, since they started holding them in the middle of nowhere.

Look at

http://personalpages.tds.net/~rcarlsen/

and you'll find his e-mail address.

He's repaired dozens and dozens of hardware items for myself and my club.

+1 Ray Carlsen!

I sent a breadbox C64 and a C128 to him a couple of years ago and he was able to repair both without any issues. Great guy! Very reasonable prices too.

Yup, he's able to repair plenty of C= stuff.  The last two times we met, he had repaired a 1541, a 1541-II, 3 monitors, a VIC-20, and a MSD SD-2 for me and others in the club.  The next time I see him I'll pick up a C128 and some SX-64's.  And I'll leave him two MSD SD-2's and another flat C128 (and maybe another monitor) for him to repair.

Yes, he is.  Very down-to-earth.  And good pricing for repairs, too.
