Depending on how long it is going to take Hyperion to finish the drivers for the onboard sound and Ethernet, they might hesitate on doing the second (public sale) production run of X1000's. If the drivers are close to being done, it would make more sense to wait until they are finished, instead of having to purchase a matching bunch of sound cards and Ethernet cards. I don't know how hard it is to source those two cards, or what their price is. Obviously it is preferable to have the onboard devices supported, instead of needing to use the older supported cards.
I have no knowledge if this is what is going on, but it makes sense to me. We should have some information from A-Eon & AmigaKit after they are done assembling, testing and shipping all of the "First Contact" X1000 systems to the buyers.
I just want to see how fast the next production run of X1000's sell out? "First Contact" X1000's sold out in less than 36 hours, so we know there is still more demand for X1000's from people that did not order in that short time frame.
Will the 2nd public production run sell out in 2 days, 2 weeks, or 2 months?
