Unstable OS 3.9 BB4
« on: January 24, 2012, 08:20:07 PM »
Hi,

I have an A1200 with the following configuration :

HW :
====

Amiga 1200 + Fast ATA Controller NO-SPLIT mode, Microbotics 1230XA accelerator with FPU and 128 Mb Fast RAM.

SW :
====

OS 3.9, BB4. Using Diropus Magellan II.

A way back I've been experiencing some problems. If I try to run Amodplay or hippoplayer, I get an error requester stating (freely translated from Spanish language) :

Software failure (error #80000004)
Wait for disk activity to end
Suspend Reset

Error number #8700000E for hippoplayer.

Also I am running Directory Opus in non workbench replacement mode. If I try to select Workbench --> Use (from Environment --> Visualization option) the system crashes and a red software guru is displayed.

I don't have a clue on the possible causes for this crashes so please help me find them :angry:

Kind regards,

Manel (beltrixx)

Does everything work properly with only boingbag1 and 2 installed?  If not it could be a power supply issue if you are still using an ancient power supply.

How do you use the updated modules?

Do you use loadmodule?  or any other way?

Also don't use the scsi.device found in OS3.9 or boingbag 1,2,3 or 4.  You must only use ATA3.driver
A4000T, 604e@400&060@66, 128MB+16MB+Zorram256, CVisionPPC, VLabMotion, Toccata, XSurf100&RapidRoad, Prisma Megamix

A1200, Blizzard060@50, 256MB, Blizzard IV SCSI, FastATA mk4

I'm using an ATX power supply which is only two years old so I don't think this is the problem. Also load the updated modules via setpatch / loadmodule, as stated in the end of the install script for BB3 & BB4.

I will comment the lines regarding scsi.device and will let you know if the problem is solved...

Thanks for your advice.
