Amiga OS 4.0 question(s)
« on: January 13, 2004, 03:52:18 AM »
Hey all,

I've not been around the Amiga scene for a few months. Is Amiga OS 4.0 finally out? Is it still an Amiga One exclusive, or will it work on Classic Amiga's now also?

Thanks. :-D

Not yet but it should be really soon. The last that I've read about the release date for the pre-release is january. The pre-release will only be for current A1 owners (earlybird).

AOS 4 will work on a classic Amiga with a PPC-board.

Hi Invisix,

No, OS4 is not out yet.  The Beta version is due out REAL soon now.  (I suspect by the end of January.)  It *will* work on Classic Amigas that have a PPC accelerator (most PPC accelerators anyway).

Not out yet.  Pre-release planned for this year.  (As Barry Moss put it, "not until after christmas")

Other than that, the last thing I heard was that they were porting Picasso 96 over.
