A Lot of times they seem to be able to find TVs that only have RF modulated coax input.

Depends on your luck

SCART and definitly VGA seems to become more common. DVI/HDMI.. I think "D" stands for Dreams..

A lot of hotels use cheap ass consumer TV's but some use industrial units with BNC inputs from a central feed, if this is the case the chances are you're out of luck.

In reality, I've seen very few hotels/holiday camps/guest houses that don't have composite or SCART available somewhere.

I work part time at an upscale Hotel and all our LCD TVs have DVI inputs.

Good to hear better inputs becoming more common. I think a lot depends on the kind of hotel you stay in. Smaller guest houses are unlikely to upgrade hardware at the rate of the larger hotels, that's for sure.

I've worked in hotels and holiday camps and it was never a problem if someone plugged in a console. The best bet may be just to phone up and ask in advance.

I stayed at a hotel around Christmas and they had pretty nice TVs.



It had 3 or 4 HDMI ports, at least one VGA port, and S-video/composite.

Rather than watch what they had on TV, I streamed Netflix through my cellphone connection (which was >3x faster than the WiFi connection they provided.)

I work part time at an upscale Hotel and all our LCD TVs have DVI inputs.

I stayed at one in Orlando that had an fairly nice LCD TV and I got all excited because I brought my notebook. I inspected the back of the TV and there was an aftermarket metal plate covering the area where the other inputs probably were.

I think the last few times I have gotten LCD TVs I would have preferred the standard 27" Tube anyway.  In south Florida hotels you almost always need to have the AC until running and some of the newer LCD TVs really don't have room for proper speakers.

Speakers and TV.. doh

I use stereo for that. But at least the CRT types tended to have somewhat decent sound.
