My new amiga monitor is amazing, and so is WHDLoad

okay, so WHDload is totally amazing.

Better yet, I just got a big 23" ST2320L monitor from Dell. Connects through VGA and displays amiga PAL modes perfectly fine.

Scrolling isn't 10.000 % smooth but it is quite good, everything looks great.
I am soooooo happy.

Yup I have a 21 inch LG monitor that displays PAL fine. Again scrolling isn't 100% but I think that might be to with the ECS rather than the monitor it's self. And WHDLoad is a brilliant bit of software. I have a registered version and something like 2,100 games on my HDD.

it even auto-adjusts between productivity multiscan mode in workbench and regular pal format. Does not play nice with interlace modes but you can't win them all :)

Ironically now the 1200 has a bigger monitor than my PC :D

My monitor doesn't exactly like interlaced but it's livable. It's probably the old CRT's that will work the best with them resolutions. I have also just ordered the HxC floppy emulator with a 8gb SD card. some fun time are coming :D

So you got the ST2320L? That's good to know it's compatible! It seems to be the successor to the Amiga-compatible SR2320L that we've discussed here.

yeah, Mechy had recommended it and it works. Just need one of those cheap RGB to VGA adapters.

What is the aspect ratio like viewing PAL on a widescreen monitor?  We could do with another monitor for our other A1200 (the 14" CRT takes up too much space).

I've been using an ACER AL 1932M for about 5 years now, it has SCART input, was quite expensive at the time and impossible to find now.  Interlace really confuses it (I have to turn it off and on again) and sadly I can't adjust the position or size of the image, which comes out a bit too high up.

I think most can switch between 4:3 and wide screen. On this one, the "distortion" of widescreen isn't very bad at all. It used to be way worse with my old external scan doubler and old LCD for some reason. Maybe Im wrong.

I do get a tiny bit of black border even in wide screen, but its not bad at all. I'll try to take some pics tonight if I get a chance

It worked but not ideal. And it didnt work for any regular games (with a few exceptions)
