OctaMED Professional V4 manual
« on: February 16, 2009, 06:08:57 PM »
Hi! I am looking for OctaMED V4 instructions. The only document I have is V4_Features.doc and is purely descriptive, almost a reference.

What system are you running on?  OctaMED SoundStudio 1.03c is available as freeware for joining the OctaMED Yahoo Group and contains documentation that you might find useful.

I am using an Amiga A500 1MB RAM WorkBench 1.3D. I am subscribed to the OctaMED Yahoo Group and a user suggested downloading the Freeware OctaMED Soundstudio V1.03c, which I did, but the version I run seems different.

Hmmm... an A500 with 1 meg of RAM can't do very much.  You're better off staying with OctaMED 4 on that system.  There are 3 file formats used by OctaMED 4.  The MMD1 format is the best, and Protracker is the least flexible of them.  The other one is MMD0 which is an old format.

If you look at the commands in the documentation of OctaMED SoundStudio (which should be in AmigaGuide format) regarding which commands are available in 4 channel mode with MMD1 format, you should be able to figure the rest out.  Also, avoid using the old 8 channel mode since it uses bad mixing routines.

Thank you, SamuraiCrow, I´m gonna check it out. I think I am to use the four Paula channels plus a MIDI interface to slave 2-4 external synths from OctaMED. I guess it will work ok. Anyhow, it´s a 8-channel task, but with only the four internal Amiga channels.
