Setting up a Golden Gate 386SX
« on: October 23, 2011, 05:15:14 AM »
I have one of these in my 4000, but I don't understand how to get it up and running? Does it need a hard drive? My Amiga recognizes that there is a card in a slot, but doesn't know what it is.

What is the proper software I need?

@Tupin

Take a look at this site:
http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/goldengate

Download the two disk images.  One needs to be installed on the Amiga to use/start the emulation and the other disk is to be installed on the IBM side to utilise Amiga resources.

The disk images are for the 486 version but they might be backwards compatible.  If not, you need to find disk images compatible with your card.

Hope this helps...

Cheers,

Also, good luck if it's a 4000T - if it's an A4000D I suggest using the top slot. At least that is where my 486 version works. These are nice boards but seem to be a bit finicky to get working smoothly. Be prepared with some patience.
