Recommendations on PS2 mouse adapters?
« on: September 28, 2011, 09:45:45 PM »
I see there's two options for a PS2 adapter through amigakit. Cocolino and the Micromys.

Any significant differences and recommendations or are they pretty equal?

Micromys has worked better for me. I'd recommend it.

I have Cocolino, Mr. Mysza and a Micromys.  They all  do their job but  Micromys is larger and has little switches to activate  Amiga, C64 or Atari ST mode.

Cocolino places way to much leverage on your motherboard and will destroy it like it did to my dad's A3000.

Get the Micromys.

well, I don't want to jack up my precious miggy for sure :)

Sounds like the micromys it is then.

Sadly, my last commodore mouse is on its last legs, and PS2 mice are a dime a dozen.

Actually I have decided that it is safe to use any one u want as long as u employ a joystick extension cable to keep the leverage off the solder joints of your motherboard.

I've used the Micromys mouse-adapter for quite a while now. Very happy with it. Sturdy product. Can recommend it. :)

I do not tried the other adapters but the cocolino works very fine on my A1200
I recommend the use of an old ps2 300 or 400 dpi optical mouse....
something like the first logitech optical mouse models or the first generation of Microsoft optical mouses
new and today mouses do not work very fine on this adapter and in general ...they are cheap and very fast and the adapter did not works accurately with them

Always used Cocolino for years and never failed me.
I had even hacked one inside one previous A600 of mine and worked like a charm.
Also software that comes with it including scrollwheel support is really great.

I prefer something much higher than 300 dpi.  I am using an 800 dpi mouse now with my Mr. Mysza and it is awesome.

There are possible problems with it and the C64, as evidenced in the discussion at
