Installing 4.0
« on: August 28, 2011, 03:08:03 PM »
I have treid to install 4.0 a couple of houers now and i cant even get the boot floppy to detect the cd :(

I am using a A3000T with an CSPPC and my scsi chain look like this

Term-->CSPPC-->50pin Scsi cd converted to 68pin --> 68pin HDD-->Term

The CD worked like a charm like this in 3.9 and i could transfer files and all that without a problem but when i try to boot the install with the floppy and the cd in the drive i just get "Please insert volume AmigaOS 4.0 Install CD in any drive"

Have tried varius settings in the CSPPC meny and i have chosen that the CD should be mounted.

I can see the CD drive in the Boot meny

I rly dont know what to do now. Why does everything need to be so difficult when it comes to tricking your amiga to do as you want?

I'm not sure the A3000T is supported.  Check the documentation that came with OS 4 for Classics.  I hope you don't have to switch to an A4000T.  I do know that the SCSI adapter for the Blizzard PPC doesn't work in OS 4, maybe OS 4 doesn't recognize or have drivers for your SCSI adapter.

You mean 4.0 or 4.1?
I have the 4.1 and my config in amiga 4000T
term-----csppc------hd-------adapter68 to 50----cdrom-----term
All work good.
Visit http://www.hd-zone.com/ here a tutorial for install amigaos4.1 on classic
