The only Amiga emulators I know are UAE and Fellow. Fellow is apparently a bit faster on slower machines, but doesn't support everything that UAE does (ie the AGA chipset). What is you're computer? I cannot remember the system requirements, but I wouldn't use it with anything less thatn 200Mhz.
I've always found UAE great - you can get the Windows port (the most advanced)
here. It supports Picasso96, so if you set it up right it can have very large resolutions and colourdepths. If you take the time to set up a harddrive and AHI drivers etc, then you could use it for all your computing needs (including internet and sound/video like you're used to in windoze/Mac/Linux etc).
Obviously you'll need at least a kickstart image - if you don't have an Amiga to transfer it from, Cloanto's Amiga Forever included the emulator and OS.
BTW who's you're avatar? :-)
