Looking for A4000 parts
« on: June 14, 2011, 05:26:01 AM »
I am getting ready to restore my Amiga 4000 motherboard,  but need to find some parts such as capaciters and such.  Does anyone know where I could order these tiny parts?  I just finished restoring an Amiga 2000 HD.  Before that I restored an Amiga 1000 with the 1 meg insider inside and an Amiga 3000 (18 MB RAM, 2-2GB SCSI HDD's, 3.1 ROMS).  I really am looking forward to restoring my miggy 4k and can't wait.  Also I have 2 more Amiga 1000's if anyone needs one for thier collection (they must pay the shipping costs though) and they are the computer only with no KB or mouse, and an Amiga 500 MB and 500+ MB.  These I have not tested yet as I rescued these, the 2000hd and some other stuff such as the Midget racer and RAM expansions for the A500s from a barn.  The 2000 HD took a lot of work as it was dirty, corroded battery damage and rust (yes rust) on the underside of the motherboard caused from the metal plate under the plastic divider.  Anyways I will be working on those 500 MB's sometime this summer if anyone wants one (I dont have a case for them).  One more thing I have an empty A1200 case if anyone needs it or parts of it.  Oh yeah I'm in the USA also.--One more thing, I have tested only one of the two other 1000s and they do need a little bit of work so if anyone wants one, PM me and I will give them an ETA of when they will be ready and after they are ready to ship then we can handle the shipping costs.

You need to let him know the rev no. of your Motherboard and he can supply the correct ones.

He is 'Cosmos' in these and other Amiga forums :)

DigiKey is my go-to for capacitors. Very easy to order if you know the sizes and ratings (not difficult to figure out), and you can easily compare specs between the best brands. (IIRC, Nichicon "CL" series was the way to go last time I ordered.) On the other hand, Cosmos might be the least hassle if you only plan on doing a board or two.

Interested in the A500+ MB.  Does it work?  I am sure it has battery leakage though...
Going Bananas over AMIGAs since 1987...
