Blizkick
« on: May 28, 2011, 11:30:17 PM »
Er....I'm confused!

I'm trying to 'Flash' my Cyberstorm MK2 68040 to run 3.1 ROM's using Blizkick. I've extracted the LHA in OS and have two files and when I display all icon I have many more but I can't work out what the fudge I am meant to do with the bloody thing! It makes me thing spending £40 on REAL 3.1 ROM's for my A4000 would be easier!

Erm... While I don't own a Cyberstorm but I do own Blizzards, BilzKick isn't for "Flash" upgrading your Cyberstorm or Blizzard boards it's  really only for putting your chosen Kickstart ROM (modded or unmodded) into fast ram... ;)

To upgrade the flash rom of a Cyberstorm or Blizzard you need the special software that does this which can be found here... :)

On the other hand after re-reading your post, I think what were trying to say was, how do you get BlizKick to put the 3.1 ROM into Fast RAM, if that;s the case then this is the way I do it to allow me to muck about with different ROMS & set ups... :)

My Typical BlizKick StartUp-Sequence (see the line in bold)... :)
StartUp-Sequence...
Code: [Select]
; $VER: Startup-Sequence_060+Blizkick 1.0 (31.08.06)

C:+C/VInfo        ;My Virus Checker Prog

C:LoadWB -DEBUG

Avail <>NIL: FLUSH

EndCLI >NIL:

The line in bold would execute this short script to run BlizKick... :)
Bliz.PPC
Code: [Select]
FAILAT 10

Assign <>NIL: BKM: "SYS:Expansion/BlizKick/Modules/"
Assign <>NIL: Kik: "DEVS:KickStarts/Bliz/"

CD BKM:

C:+C/BlizKick Kik:ROM3.1.patched extresbuf=110000 Module= FixGetMsg con.dev.new FFS.V45.9 FSys.res.V45.7 inp.dev.V50.26 ram-hand.V44.21 Rom.IDTag.V44.26 IntAckFix msingbas.lib mffp.lib AlertFix QUIET

Assign <>NIL: BKM: Remove
Assign <>NIL: Kik: Remove

And by using short scripts like these then whenever I want to try a different set up I only have to change the line in the StartUp-Sequence in bold to another scripts name to easily change to a new set up... :)

For example :-
Change
S:Bliz.PPC           ;BlizKick Remap ROM 060/PPC
to
S:Bliz.3.1           ;BlizKick Remap ROM 060/PPC

Would execute this BlizKick SetUp...
Bliz.3.1
Code: [Select]
FAILAT 10

Assign <>NIL: BKM: "SYS:Expansion/BlizKick/Modules/"
Assign <>NIL: Kik: "DEVS:KickStarts/Bliz/"

C:+C/BlizKick KickFile=Kik:ROM3.1.patched extresbuf=100000 HOGWAITBLIT SPEEDROM Module=BKM:FixGetMsg BKM:LocalFast BKM:console.device.V44.6 BKM:FastFileSystem.V45.9 BKM:FileSystem.resource.V45.7 BKM:ram-handler.V44.21 QUIET

;C:+C/CheckInput <>NIL:

;IF WARN
;  C:+C/LoadResident <>NIL: DEVS:input.device REBOOT
;ENDIF

Assign <>NIL: BKM: Remove
Assign <>NIL: Kik: Remove
