A friend of mine made a demo star scroller optimized for 68010. It has a "loop mode", from Wikipedia.

``Additionally, the 68010 had a "loop mode", which could be considered a tiny and special-case instruction cache, which accelerates loops that consist of only 2 instructions.''

It could be that I am one of a handful of people who has ever seen that.
He had this annoying habit of writing really cool little things, but never releasing them, because it wasn't a full demo or game or anything.

Incredibly talented guy, I wonder what became of him...

Bomber won`t work...

It`s not an upgrade that worth the trouble. Keep the CDTV as is

Best reason to add 010 would be WHDLoad, exit key works after that. With that memory you have, it would be nice whdload machine

That is what I was thinking.  Or I could take the AdSpeed out of my A500 and transplant it into the CDTV.  I think it uses a 68010 and runs it at 7MHz and 14MHz with a software switch to start the speedup.

To answer the other person's question, there were at least one or two 68020 accelerators for the CDTV that were produced and sold, but are most likely very rare.  I am sure those accelerators allowed the case to be closed without modification.  A very good source of info on the CDTV is CDTV.org.  Lots of info and pictures of all the CDTV add-ons and accessories.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)
