Ibrowse Fail to resolve Several addresses atm!
« on: December 08, 2003, 02:06:45 PM »
Ok, i have had some strange errors lately and i need some help.

Ibrowse 2.3 (my fav browser) now all of a sudden wont View Ebay.com , Ebay.Co.Uk , Ebay.De etc anymore , when i click on the link it just keeps searching and ends up with giving me a "time out".

Aweb Still works fine with ebay etc, so it must be something wrong with my ibrowse settings.

Also Paypal.com etc seems to work fine so its not a SSL problem or simmilar i think...

oh and all other sites i use dayly works aswell with ibrowse...

help :)

pps:it seems to work every now and then (ib with ebay etc) but thats not good enough...

thanx

Try to delete the cookies from these domains.

I also get some "Network error: connection time-out" messages when I have to check the yahoo mail accounts. The A-Web shows me the authentication page back again and again, and the IB just times out.

Anyone that has experienced similar problems?

cass:sounds like your CLOCK is not correct, try and adjust it to correct value...

i had exactly this problem with Amigaworld and amiga.org websites when my clock was wrong (in the future)...

might be worth a try ..

You mean the RTC, or the system clock?

For the RTC I use the FACTS program, and the time is correct (checked my wrist watch! :-) ).

As for the mobo internal clock, there isn't much to do, I have a CSPPC, and set the jumpers correctly in order to make it work.

Checked the date, all OK. I'm still having "connection time out" messages!

Thanks for the tip lempkee (you never know what might be the cause!). :-)

Hi Cass

the same problem here due a wrong setting in FACTS.

The system Date and Hour was correct but i had a wrong GMT setting.

Every mail, sent with a GMT-500 (instead of GMT 1 here in Italy) and some servers threats my mail like spam (date in future).

Try to send a mail and check the date.

Ciao

PS- check with the Utility SLEFF (inside the FACTS archive) if your GMT is set correctly.

@ Framiga

Salve Franco!

Here is the date received from my account, a few minutes ago:
Date Mon, 08 Dec 2003 16:42:51 +0100
It's OK.

I remember your postings on the italian ML, I just couldn't follow the replies :-) (your replies were before the questions, as the YAM ordered the mails by date & time!!! Very funny:-) ).

I think it has something to do with the SSL. But then again I tried to log without SSL... :-?

Hi Cass,

yes really strange but true :-) anyway it was my fault. Facts AFAIK, works fine. . . even if i've removed it :-D

I had a lot of problems, with some ML antispam filters (often with yahoogroups).

IIRC the thread was on the IBrowse ML.

Ciao

I had my paranoia moment, so I had to exclude the possibility that any other machine on my Lan blocked the connection:

I booted NetBSD, and logged to yahoo mails successfully with "links". So I think that the "connection timeout" problem, has to do only with my AMiGA-OS browsers.

...to be continued!
