IBrowse Demo
« on: December 09, 2003, 09:32:20 PM »
Hi everyone,

Once again, I am looking for a bit of help!  I have been considering trying to use my Amiga (A1200 Blizzard 1230IV 32Mb Kick + Wb 3.1) for internet access.  It appears that IBrowse is the software to go for.  With that in mind I downloaded the demo for evaluation purposes and installed it.  However, when I try to load it it I get an error message: Couldn't create CL_DownloadListGroups.  I have MUI 3.8 installed.  Anyone got any ideas?

Probably going to sound really stupid, but don't need TCP/IC for dry-runs with no connection do I?  :nervous:

Cheers

Dunno about your error message, but iBrowse always worked without a connection on my A1200.

Interesting error. Are all your custom classes installed and up to date? Failing that, I suggest you try the mailing list, as previously stated.

The custom classes are present but maybe not in right location?  Newstring, NFloattext etc are in a drawer labelled MUI within the IBrowse drawer ie. not MUI itself.  Is this where they should be or do they go with MUI itself?
Apologies if secondary question is a stupid one covered by manuals but I ain't been able to work it out!

Waiting to try mailing list!
Thanks for suggestions.

Where did you get the demo from? You should get it from http://www.iospirit.de & run the install
program. The MUI files will be moved to your MUI system drawer & IBrowse should work.

Hello,

IBrowse is very good web browser frok what i have seen so far. Voyager is another (second best) web browser. AWeb is also a very good one, and you can download it for free via the open source project:

http://aweb.sunsite.dk/

I know that this doesn't directly solve your problem, but by downloading this, you will have a full web browser rather than just a demo. Although keep IBrowse for pages AWeb won't be able to open.

I hope that this helps you :-)
